Half an hour from the intriguing Basque city of Bilbao, Aldori Landetxea is a country house with a modern and decisive interior decor that goes beyond plain minimalism.

Casa de Madrid is a small house in the cultural centre of the capital city and we are happy to welcome our visitors to this new addition to Little Hotels.

All the Little Hotels websites went down last night and were not restored until 10.30 this morning (25 Jan). Our apologies to all our users who were affected, especially those who were waiting for a reply from us. We’ll get through the backlog of e-mails as fast as possible. It appears that our hosting company were carrying out some upgrades which should have resulted in an outage of no more than 5 or 10 minutes. Then it all went pear-shaped and we lost the lot for over eight hours. Our host’s websites were down too and even their telephones, so it was a bit frustrating. We eventually discovered that they were reporting via Twitter, just minutes before the service was restored.

We are happy to introduce you to a ‘designer hotel‘ on the island of Tenerife that was featured in this month’s Monarch in-flight magazine. This is the latest of several additions in the pleasant little town of Garachico, towards the north of the island. When we say ‘designer’ here, we’re not referring to something over-self-consciously fashionable, but simply a fantastically and tastefully decorated 18th-Century house, where the decor blends easily with the 18th-Century building’s features, giving it a timeless look; a look that would forever look great, regardless of design trends.
