Casa Leon is a boutique B&B hidden away up a winding road, high in the mountains. The views are utterly mind-blowing, and everything within Casa Leon is positioned to take the fullest advantage of its spectacular location. It’s set in the picturesque village of Bolulla, a little way inland from the Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante.

The jewel in the crown at Casa Leon is the infinity pool overlooking the panoramic view of the Sierra de Bernia mountains, a tree-covered valley, Altea town and the Mediterranean Sea. There are plentiful sunloungers on the terrace all around and the hot tub looks out onto the same dramatic view. The crisp lines of the design lead all the way through the garden, stocked with mediterranean and sub-tropical plants and shrubs.

A gourmet two-course breakfast is served in the contemporary dining room, or on the terrace. It includes fruit, homemade yoghurt and freshly baked bread. Evening meals are available three times a week (booked in advance) and there is an honesty bar with a wide array of alcoholic drinks, plus complimentary tea and coffee at any time. Casa Leon is a place for total relaxation and re-charging of the batteries, so televisions are not provided in the rooms. However, just in case, there is a television for guests in the dining room.

All of the five rooms have air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi and en suite bathrooms with complimentary deluxe toiletries. Two rooms have both a bathtub and a walk-in shower; the other three have very spacious walk-in showers. Each room is uniquely decorated in a serene, sophisticated style. Every room offers a sea and mountain view. The two rooms on the ground floor have direct access to the pool, while the upper-floor suites each have a spacious balcony terrace.

This naturally beautiful area offers endless walking and cycling options on the marked trails, or you can just sit back and enjoy the tranquillity. For golf lovers, there are seven golf courses lying within 15 km. The sandy beaches and crystal-blue sea at Altea, Albir and Calpe are no more than half an hour away by car. The tumbling waterfalls and rocky streams of Les Fonts de l'Algar are just over a 10-minute drive. Meanwhile, Aqualandia water park, Guadalest’s vertiginously-suspended castle and the Terra Mítica theme park are all half an hour away.
