Villa Ignacia
, Huerta de Maria Nieves s/n, Arriate.
Set on the rocky edge of a gorge filled with rampant greenery, Villa Ignacia seems like a little bit of paradise in a busy world. Under the guidance of Fran (a proud local through-and-through) and Sophie (Dutch, but has lived many years in Spain), this is a place to unwind amongst gorgeous scenery. When the surroundings of the B&B are not enough, the Serrania de Ronda, Setenil, Ronda itself and the wider Sierras of Andalucia are all awaiting.
The garden and terraces blend seamlessly into the surrounding verdure, and there’s a swimming pool tucked into the south-facing wall of the canyon, just below the hotel. Continental breakfast is served each, in the dining room or on the terrace according to your choosing.
The double rooms are nicely decorated and equipped with air-conditioning, heating, a hairdryer, free toiletries and all the necessaries. Some have mountain views and they all have a view of the garden. For extra space, choose one of the apartments which have a living area, kitchenette and a terrace with outdoor furniture.
The location of Villa Ignacia is little short of ideal, halfway between two towns with their very own spectacular hallmarks: the Tajo Bridge in Ronda and the hanging cliffs over the street in Setenil.
